The second most popular stainless steel grade after 304 is 316, which is austenitic and contains molybdenum alloy elements. Compared to 304, 316 has higher ductility, better overall corrosion resistance, good formability, and better welding properties, making it more suitable for anti-corrosive environments like those found in the chemical, marine, paper, and medical industries, among others.
Because molybdenum was added to the alloy, 316 stainless steel sheet has particularly good corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance, and high temperature strength. It can be used in harsh environments, and it also has excellent work hardening properties and good high temperature strength. However, because of these factors, 316 stainless steel sheet costs more than 304 stainless steel. However, even at higher temperatures, 316 stainless steel sheets cannot be used in the concentrated sulfuric acid solution. Although 316 stainless steel sheet has a high level of corrosion resistance, it is still susceptible to corrosion once it has been exposed to a certain amount of moisture. As a result, when purchasing 316 stainless steel sheet, it is important to consider the installation environment and the right material to use so that the product's benefits can be fully utilized.
TS is able to provide various specifications of 316 stainless steel sheets, which have a silvery-white luster, a smooth surface, excellent corrosion resistance, and a long service life.
